Oct 31, 2011 · Let me assure you our old halogen bulbs didn't last nearly as long as 2,500 hours. I'd roughly estimate those bulbs are on an average of 3 hours a day. The halogen bulbs should have lasted about 2.25 years at that usage. This is the second time I've had to replace these bulbs and we've only been in our house 3 years.
I would love to know the answer to this too. We have just gone through our 4th Robinhood rangehood since 2007! (The current failure lasted nearly 3 years - one only lasted a year - same problem) As many others have discovered, a very poor design fault sees the plastic part holding the screw that supports the unit crumble away and the whole slide out part drops down.

Make sure their nothing already in one of the socket pin holes (like part of the old bulb) and the note the socket hole locations and (lightly, using your finger tips) fit the bulb up into the socket and wiggle it until the pins and holes align.
